Unemployed aged workers and re-trainingSubmitted by rlewis on 21 August, 2008 - 14:15.
I say thoughtful, as seniors, by the very nature of the ageing process, do learn differently from the young. Faster in some areas, slower in others, and via more hands on and group processes. Your ideas on such re-training would be most welcome and we will pass them on to the Department

I understand that there is a problem when seniors reach a certain age in the workforce where they are not covered by workers compensation and cannot contribute to superannation.
I have done no research into this myself just going by what I have heard on radio, tv etc.
IEmployers s such as Woolworth, Coles, McDonalds etc are happy to employ older workers I believe (but how old?).
