Living longer in an increasingly expensive world, brings with it challenges for most of us.

Financing our retirement usually gets harder as our savings get used up. While our consumption of goods declines, health costs rise as also does home maintenance.

If we want to maintain our general standard of living, home owners have many strategies for dealing with these problems. Selling down is a common one. The position of renters is much harder.

Koko....car parking

Koko, I read many years ago about people in America renting out their garages in the innner city.  Many people have garages but no cars to fill them with and it was giving them a nice little weekly earner.
