Is greypower rising or is it ephemera?

Is greypower on the warpath over fair pensions, or is it ephemera? I think that achieving useful outcomes from this courageous demonstration will require sustained effort, and that will only come about with some sort of independent and noisy national leadership.

There is some debate over the modesty etc of such demonstrations, but it seems that, sadly, in todays political and commercial life, the only doors that get oiled are the squeaky ones.

The actions of those ladies and gentlemen were more than likely undertaken in the heat of the moment, and may wish now they had not.

But it is done now, and possibly, because of the internet, it ( the picture) will surface from time to time, and keep the issue alive in a vague kind of way.

Howard/Costello initiated a number of bonuses after Labor's debt was paid off, as well as permanent c.o.l increments.

The current $500.00 payment, as well as the increase in utility payments, were Howard/Costello initiatives, which the Labor govt was adamant in saying they would not allow, and only through passionate argument in Parliament by the Opp leader and Shadow treasurer, were they granted. Even after granting same, the Labor govt said it may  not be granted as ongoing, but merely a once off.

We are then told by the govt: "we have done all we physically can".

Those who think Howard/Costello didn't do much, might now reflect on the fact that  now, apparently ,nothing more can be done by this govt.
