Is greypower rising or is it ephemera?

Is greypower on the warpath over fair pensions, or is it ephemera? I think that achieving useful outcomes from this courageous demonstration will require sustained effort, and that will only come about with some sort of independent and noisy national leadership.

There is some debate over the modesty etc of such demonstrations, but it seems that, sadly, in todays political and commercial life, the only doors that get oiled are the squeaky ones.

I agree it’s really hard trying to live solely on a government pension, but could we hold our fire and give the Rudd Government enough time to turn around the 12 years of  Howard EcoRat budgeting before we OAPs ask for more.

I’m afraid we’re falling into THE NEW GREED that is egotistic and unreasonable.  Shouldn’t we first make sure Education and Health are back to normal funding, as well as Struggling Families and our Damaged Planet.

Why do so many expect Rudd to provide equity in the triple bottom line for all in his first budget?  This budget gave us more than Howard ever promised.   And we who have lived through harder times than now, can more clearly see the big picture of world recession looming and oil prices accelerating well into the future.  If Rudd doesn’t make savings now, we could be left in another Global Depression.

Cheers
