First Days at SchoolSubmitted by desk hermit on 4 August, 2008 - 11:29.
My first day at school was late in term one and all the other first years had been learning to dance around a Maypole. My first impressions of school were watching boys and girls dancing round the pole while the ribbons they held made intricate and precise pink, yellow, blue and white patterns as they wrapped around the pole.
Comes my turn the dancing and weaving in and out did not seem so easy and the precise pattern of the ribbons round the pole had changed ... ( categories: Bugle Blog )
Speaking of FoodSubmitted by rlewis on 26 June, 2008 - 10:46.
I attended a Govt seminar on Wednesday and it was to do with ageing and nutrition. I became aware that many more seniors these days rely on home grown food to supplement their budgets. It's also a great hobby activity as we age. It is so important to so many, that we plan to write a new course on such for the Greypath Lyceum . As I can not be sure of finding a course writer for such, I will write it myself by default if needs be. I would greatly value anyone's input on such matters as, best varieties, crop rotation, picking, most ... ( categories: Bugle Blog )
I worry about ZoosSubmitted by mhambidge on 12 May, 2008 - 17:00.
We took our 5-year-old grand-daughter to the local zoo a couple of days ago, and it rained. ( categories: Bugle Blog )
Trust abounds?Submitted by mhambidge on 2 May, 2008 - 14:58.
Australian bosses, so it seems, will soon have the right (and responsibility) to check their workers’ emails. The new scheme is all part of improving national security, according to our Government. ( categories: Bugle Blog | My View )
Elderly and disabled...Submitted by coylum on 2 August, 2008 - 18:33.
I am a very new member of GreyPath so forgive me if this is not the correct forum. I do volunteer work with the disabled elderly particularly in respect of computer support so that they can maintain contact with the "outside world" from home. One of my "clients" suffers from Motor Neurone Disease, is wheelchair bound, can't speak and is going steadily downhill. Yet, she has a brilliant mind, is very positive and makes me realise how lucky I am! She is determined to remain at home as long as possible - what makes me sick is the lack of support from the government. ... ( categories: Bugle Blog )

My Bus TripSubmitted by Gerda on 11 May, 2008 - 19:56.
The day had finally arrived-my long awaited trip to beautiful Batemans Bay! The taxidriver made sure he took the longest route possible (avoiding the faster freeway with its tolls), and inspite of three reminders, took me to Southern Cross instead of Flinders St. Station. Never mind, I told myself, remain positive, enjoy yourself! Onto the bus; 47 mostly white-haired female passengers jostled for the front seats. Some of the questions: ''Why do you have a seat by yourself? ''I don't know.'' Where do you come from? How many years have you lived in Australia? Why do you still have an ... Another day, another place..........Submitted by Katiedu on 30 April, 2008 - 17:58.
Hi, and welcome to my blog. Or, to put it another way, Hi and welcome to my blog :) I joined Greypath quite some time ago, then we moved house, downsized dramatically, (this included throwing out all my little books with usernames and passwords) and so I have joined up again. A little about me, Australian, living in Victoria by the bay, married to the greatest guy ever, 4 adult children and 4 grandchildren. I have a large extended family with parents still living and thriving. ( categories: Bugle Blog )
SunshineSubmitted by Gerda on 26 July, 2008 - 17:01.
In my quest for warmer weather, I recently made a little excursion to Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. Eager to see the hinterland, I booked a trip for the first day. Of course, it rained all day--no sunshine!! (They've had so much rain, the reservoirs are overflowing, and pipelines are being installed so that water can be siphoned off to waterless Brisbane). No matter, the tour was highly informative, as there were only five persons on board, and the very knowledgeable driver was only too happy to answer our many questions. Our first stop at Eumundi Market led us thru ... ( categories: Bugle Blog )
New Guest BloggerSubmitted by greypal2 on 23 May, 2008 - 14:10.
We welcome Andy Youngman who has taken over from Mike Hambidge as our Guest blogger. (Home page under the SIG's tab) . While Andy has some months to go yet of course, we would like to have a queue of interesting people lined up to do a blog stint in the future. I have in mind people who live a different life to the rest of us. For example a Canadian Indian Princess, (No kidding - Lakashima did our creative writers course a couple of years ago), an Aussie Nun in a Senegal school ( I know one and we are working on it), a NT ... When I met the QueenSubmitted by desk hermit on 5 May, 2008 - 15:16.
When I was 6 years old the Queen visited my home town and my grandmother took me to see her on the drive from the railway station down London Road. All the children in the crowd lining the road had small Union Jacks unfortunately because we arrived late I did not get a flag. ( categories: Bugle Blog )
Who Am I?Submitted by Mimi on 20 April, 2008 - 09:43.
I am looking for a pen pal..I live in the USA and am a Grandmother.. I love to read, listen to music, write, photography, dogs, dig into what life is all about and throw away the thoughts fed to me by others, and decided my own, to laugh, and to stop being lonely.
